Community at
Benton Junior College

We believe that strong connections with our school community and the local community enrich learning and create a true sense of belonging for every student. We are passionate about building meaningful partnerships with families, local organisations, services and community groups, providing students with opportunities to engage with the world beyond the classroom.
Through these connections, our students develop a deeper understanding of their community, learn the value of contributing to others and build important social and life skills. Whether through community projects, local events, guest speakers or collaborative initiatives, we actively seek ways to connect learning with real-world experiences. We are proud to be part of a supportive and vibrant community, and we are committed to fostering relationships that strengthen not only our school, but the wider community we belong to.
BJC Playgroup
BJC Playgroup is registered playgroup that is a wonderful opportunity for young children and families to connect with our school community in a warm and welcoming environment.
It provides engaging play-based experiences for children aged 0–5.
Our playgroup is on every Wednesday during the school term from 2:30pm to 3:15pm. Families are invited to come along, meet other local families and begin building a sense of connection with our school.

Breakfast Club
Our Breakfast Club is proudly supported by Foodbank and runs every Monday morning. It provides a warm and welcoming start to the week for our students and is a wonderful opportunity for children to connect with their peers and our staff while enjoying a healthy breakfast.
To further support student wellbeing, fresh fruit baskets are available in every classroom, encouraging healthy snacking throughout the day. We also offer a community pantry, providing families with access to essential food items when needed.
